BAPTIZED IN THE HOLY GHOST John the Baptist’s primary mission was to prepare the hearts and minds of men to receive the redemption of their sins by the blood of Jesus. His water baptism was an outward symbol of that redemption which was the precursor of something far greater, the Baptism of the Holy Ghost.
